Extension of the school for autistic children Aleph-Tea

Madrid

A small, detached building being built next to a school we designed years ago. It is a centre for the Education of people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and as part of its programme new spaces are needed to support the stages of transition to adult life, consisting of a home classroom for education in the transition to domestic life, and a work classroom for activities with families. The architectural solution follows the same language as the original building, with exposed concrete walls and straight, simple forms. The building occupies a free space on the site, with independent access but with services linked to the main building.
